Winch-out & recovery

Wheels spinning, car not moving. A winch pulls the vehicle back onto solid ground slowly, without the damage that comes from flooring the gas.

We come to where your vehicle is — the street, a driveway, a parking lot or the highway shoulder — and take it where you choose.

EXIT · HOW IT WORKS

How it works for this job

  1. 1

    Look before we pull

The driver checks how the car is sitting and picks a safe anchor point.

  2. 2

    Slow, steady winch

The cable pulls the car out gradually instead of spinning the wheels.

  3. 3

    Check it over

Once it's on solid ground, look at tires, bumper and underneath before driving.

1 / 1

What to tell us when you call

  • What it's stuck in
  • How far off the road it is
  • Whether it's tilted or leaning
  • If it was driving fine before

If the car is tilted in a ditch, get out on the high side only if it's safe — otherwise stay buckled and wait.

EXIT · FAQ

Winch-out & recovery: common questions

Gentle rocking sometimes works in light snow. Spinning the wheels hard digs deeper and can overheat the transmission, so stop if it isn't moving after a few tries.

The cable attaches to a recovery point or the frame, not the bumper cover. Let the driver know about anything already loose so it can be checked first.

Maybe not. After it's pulled out, check for leaks, warning lights, steering pull or scraping noises. If anything feels off, a tow to your mechanic is the safer choice.

Usually, yes. Tell us how much snow is around it and whether the street has been plowed. Clearing some snow from the tires before we arrive helps.
